Types of drinks...

I think Caiden might be drinking too much juice and milk everyday. Probably more juice. I try to put at least half of it as water, but I still think he gets too much.

What else does everyone give their kids as far as drinks are concerned?

He doesn't seem to like just water.

Thanks!

Re: Types of drinks...

Jack has 16 oz of milk and maybe 4 ounces of juice a day and then water in between. I also don't let him walk around all day with access to a sippy cup. I think that is when they start drinking too much.

Re: Types of drinks...

Try squeezing a little lemon or some orange in the water... You can add just the tip of a teaspoon of sugar if its too tart.. that helps my little one drink more water- and its not "straight up!" LOL!! HTH! Chat Icon

Aidan has 8oz milk with breakfast, then 1-2oz of juice and vitamins with 6oz water around naptime.
4oz milk with lunch another 4 oz milk before dinner.

Occasionally there will be another 1/2 sippy of juice water or milk in there if we are out or he wants it.

Juice I buy are Apple and Eve or Juicy Juice, sometimes some Orange Juice.

For the most part, He's been cut off from drinks after 7pm due to full, leaking diapers.
Dr said he gets plenty to drink.

Re: Types of drinks...

I give Jillian 2 sippys of milk in the morning.. and she drinks very watered down juice throughout the day and then in the early afternoon I give her drinkable yogurt in the disposable sippy cups.. she loves it...she is not the best eater and would rather play than eat.. so this way i know she is getting some thing good for her...then she gets one at night with milk before bedtime

Re: Types of drinks...

Ryan will ONLY drink apple juice, no milk, no water nothing but Apple Juice. I cut it with alot of water (like 3:1), this week were able to sneak by apple white cranberry. I think as long as you cut it with water its OK. I think the doctor told me something like no more than 12 ounces of juice/day.

ETA: he is almost 3
