Typical sibling/ counseling
Please don't quote - I will be taking this down soon in case someone in RL sees this.
I'm hoping that someone can help me word a letter to the school psychologist. I have 2 boys- the older is typical and the younger has ASD. They are now in the same school.
Deleted most b/c I feared someone saw it and started ask DS questions.

Typical sibling/ counseling
I would not go through the school psychologist at all unless they are very familiar with special needs families. There are a bunch of Sib Groups on long island that are for this exact reason. Are you friendly with any of the kids parents in your younger son's class? Do any of them have siblings as well? Alot of my friends have play dates with their special needs children and then the siblings also hang out. They get exactly where they are coming from and can talk about it in a "kid" way. I would also try to schedule some playdates with your older son and his friends and not have your younger sibling there.
On a side note - I am thrilled to hear that the friends are being so nice to your younger son. That doesn't happen all the time. They must be a good group of kids!
