Ugh . . . can really use some dieting support . . .

I am feeling so negative right now. No, not negative enough to quit, but I am just in a bad state.

I did well over the holidays and maintained and showed a loss of .6 this past Saturday (despite having gone over my points, flex included for a few weeks in a row.)

I know this behavior cannot continue because by going over my flex on a consistant basis will only lead to disaster. I really felt motivated and thought I would be back on track this week.

Well, this weekend was the worst out off control weekend - even worse than the holiday weekends. I ate so poorly- Taco Bell, Penne A la Vodka, a Turkey dinner at my in-laws that included lots of stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, apple pie . . . .

I am so ashamed of myself. I went over by like 30 points for the weekend after having already used my flex points.Chat Icon Chat Icon

I just don't want this to happen another weekend in a row. I NEED to feel back in control and right now I feel like I am wavering.

Sorry if I sound frantic, I just need all of the support I can get . . . .

Thanks ladiesChat Icon

Re: Ugh . . . can really use some dieting support . . .

It happens. When I fall off the wagon I make sure to go to the meeting that week and have it hit me where it hurts - on the scale!! Sometimes a scare of a gain of 1 or 2 pounds is what I need to get me back on track.

I try to make compromises with myself. I'll tell myself I can either have X or I can have Y, but I can't have both so choose.

Just try to remember that long term benefits outweight short term gratification and you will be fine!!!

Try not to be so hard on yourself. Just put the weekend behind you and make better choices starting now. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I had one leader years ago that personally endorsed a 60 point day once a week. The day before and after you stick to the low end of your point range. You have to journal everything so you can keep track. Her theory was that you know you won't be denied anything for a long time - you can satisfy a decadent craving or not sweat that birthday party next week. She lost quite a bit doing that - not as quickly as others that followed WW to the letter maybe but she was completely satisfied with her meal plan. (Of course WW doesn't endorse this, it was this leaders personal experience).

Hey Bri, I'm right there with you girlfriend Chat Icon

I think I'm in the same place as you right now. I had people over for cocktails/appetizers on friday, went out to dinner saturday and went out for breakfast on sunday. Didn't count my points the ENTIRE weekend.

I feel like sometimes we need these breaks from the day to day so that we can get back into it gung ho. It's monday again so I'm back into it, but it just doesn't feel right when every single thing hasn't been accounted for and you're not in "control" But that doesn't mean that I've given up or I won't keep trying.

The important thing to remember is you're doing so awesome and you've come a LONG way. I think since you've lost what you've wanted to, it's easy to slide back into your old habits, but doing that just makes you feel lousy both mentally and physically.

Just don't quit and keep trying, you're just in a bit of a rut. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I've got to say, Bri and Azad, you are both an inspiration to me! Even if you have had a bad week or two looking at your past success should let you know you can start today again and get back on track. I personally think we all need sometimes to splurge...You did it, you recognize that you did it, and you want to stop--you have done all the right things! I know you are self-disciplined enough to get right back on track!

Thanks everyone! You all made some great points. I know I have to focus on the good and I thank you for recognizing my success, which can be so hard to do when you are in an emotional-eating tailspin.

Re: Ugh . . . can really use some dieting support . . .

Don't stress to much. Since Thanksgiving I have shoveled everything in mouth that wasn't nailed down. The holiday's I didn't deny myself anything all the way up till New Years. Then my uncle died and I either didn't eat at all or we went out to eat cause there is no way I was cooking.

I went back to WW yesterday. Gained 3 pounds. Chat Icon But you know what It wasnt as bad as I thought. Im not happy about it but it's a new year. I started last year and I am down 35 pounds. I would love to be down another 35 pounds in a year (or more) but im not pushing it. Im not perfect and I love food A LOT Chat Icon

I also stopped drinking my water and stopped journaling.

I think the journaling REALLY helps. It puts you into control of EVERYTHING that you put in your mouth.

Bri you can do it. We all saw the weight you lost and you look GREAT. Hang in there and here's to a new week and a new year Chat Icon

Remember take it one day at a time Chat Icon

As a repeat WW person, I have to agree with everyone else.
Remember that one day (or weekend) is just that..a little slip.
Tomorrow is another day to START keeping your points within range.

Try not to be so hard on yourself. Whenever I start to feel out of control - in any aspect of my life - I try to simplify. Take things one at a time and slow down.

Your menus are great! Take it one day at a time. Plan your menus - and then stick to them, taking them one meal at a time.

Now that the holidays are over, it may be a little easier to get back on track.

Make mini goals for yourself. As an example - stay within your alotted points for the day. Find a way to reward yourself.

I don't know you, but from your posts you seem like such a resourceful, driven person. I have no doubt that you will get back on track and meet all of your diet and fitness goals.

Re: Ugh . . . can really use some dieting support . . .

At least you know what you did wrong. And the fact that you still kept track of your points knowing that you were over is a huge accomplishment.
Usually once I go over, that is it for me. I stop counting points until the next week which leads to weigh in disappointment.
Having a few down weeks during the holidays is expected.
Keep up the good work!
