Ugh - going for a colonscopy and endoscopy tomorrow.

I've had an edoscopy before -- that was no big deal. But I'm dreading the colonscopy -- the prep even more. I've heard from everyone how bad it is and I keep looking at the jug I'm having for dinner in the fridge. I'm nauseous just thinking about it -- I don't even know how I'm going to drink it.

And then there's the aftermath after drinking it.

Somebody lie to me and tell me it's all not that bad...

It really not that bad Ok you did say lie to you... The worst part is the prep but just think you only have to do it once not a few days. I hate having colonoscopys done and I have to go every 2 yrs and I am overdue.....Good luck to you.

How big is that jug? There are other preps out there that aren't as bad.

Think of it this way. Once it's over, it's over, you will have your answers and it will be done for a long time.

I've had both and I thought the endoscopy was worse.

Honestly, it isn't that bad. I thought the prep was the worst- the drink stinks and yes, you have to go a lot. The procedure itself wasn't bad at all. Oh, my mom is a GI nurse and she told me to drink the prep very cold and suck on a lemon after you drink it to get rid of the yucky taste. Good luck.

I printed it and mailed it to my mother. She flipped over it and now keeps a copy of it in her purse for when she's having a bad day.
