Ugh - Hair Issues

DH and I have an event to go to in the beginning of Feb. I will be 6-7 weeks pregnant then, and of course I need my highlights touched up now!

I am so torn, I don't know what to do!

Oh - AND someone at work goes to the SAME hairdresser I do (they are friends) - So I don't think I can tell my hairdresser I am pregnant without her saying somethingto my coworker!

ETA: If you had highlights specifically, which trimester did you get them?

I haven't been to the doctor (going 2/8) so I don't know what he thinks...

I would not get my hair done in the first trimester.

Re: Ugh - Hair Issues

I got highlights done while pg.

They dont touch the root, so you should be fine.

ETA: I also had JHS done prior to that.

Re: Ugh - Hair Issues

My doctor told me highlights are fine during pregnancy. I'm in my 30th week and have had mine done twice so far. I need all the help I can get these days!

I've been highlighting my hair the whole pregnancy. I usually color also but that I wont do until after I have my baby.

Re: Ugh - Hair Issues

You can highlight, it does not even touch your scalp. ANd if fumes were an issue I would be in big trouble, because I am a hairdresser who does highlights and color all day long! DD #1 turned out just fine!

I wouldn't feel comfortable putting any chemicals on my head in the first trimester.
