Ugh - why interview when you don't have anything available????
DH had an interview in the city today. So he got all dressed, took the LIRR for a 4:00 meeting, had the interview, only for them to say they wanted to talk with him but they don't have anything available at this time, but they will contact him when they do...../

What???? That is crazy.....I guess someone has nothing to do but interview people for positions they don't have. I think thats mean.....I'm sorry he wasted his time...I think thats awful....

That is horrible. That actually happened to me when I applied at a NYC public school. I had the whole interview, and it was going so well. They asked me if I had any questions and I said what positions do they have open (this was for a spec ed job). THey were like, we don't know if we have any open yet, we are going to be reorganizing soon and just in case we have anything open we are having interviews.
I was really upset because I took the day off from work and I liked the school. They called me 3 weeks later to tell me they had an opening for me, but I had already accepted another position. I'm sure something great will work out for your DH

Happened to me last year...took of from work. The guy was late. Had the interview and they he proceeded to say "ok thanks, we don't have anything just seeing what is out there "

I HATE THAT!
I went on an interview, and they knew I was 2 weeks from my due date.
I had to buy an outfit and everything.....THEY WENT & HIRED INTERNAL. Why did you waste my time and money having me come in!!!!

what aspect of construction is he interested in? multi-family, affordable, private? I have lots of contacts, let me know..
