UGH! Ava has become a night owl...
After months and months of this baby sleeping through the night, now she wakes up at all hours wanting to talk and play I can't do this. I have a stressful job and I am barely getting any sleep, and poor JT gets home at 1am and needs to be up at 6 again for the baby. I'm just so stressed over this. I don't know how to break her of the habit because she sleeps in our room, so trying to let her cry it out is really disruptful. I told JT that I will set up the pull out couch for him tonight because I am lettign her cry it out. I mean, what the heck, might as well try it since I'm up anyway

Oh Rach...you think it is related to teething? How long has she been doing this? Doesn't sound like she is in pain if she wants to talk and play...is she napping too late or too much during the day?

Re: UGH! Ava has become a night owl...
the fact that she is talking and wanting to play is just that....she is waking because she knows mommy is there.
She needs to learn to soothe herself back to sleep. It's a phase.....their sleep patterns change to a cycle of deep sleep, light sleep, wake up, and then back to sleep.
I hear DD every once in awhile....sometimes it's a whine for the paci, sometimes it's cooing, giggles, and whistling, and then back to sleep....sometimes I think she's asleep as she does it

I would say that this could just be a nice short phase! We had this with Noah, I would try to sooth him and put him back down and all he wanted to do was chat to me! I used to take him downstairs into the living room and play with him for 2 hours before he got tired again!
This too shall pass...

Re: UGH! Ava has become a night owl...
Thanks ladies. She doesn't really nap during the day at all, so it's definitely not too much sleep. She's been doing this for two weeks now. I don't think it's teething related, I think it's mommy and daddy related. Like I said, we share a room, so it's kind of hard to lay there and just listen to her screams and babbles. But I guess tonight,we shall see. We're all screwed up already for tonight because we just got home, she's overtired and now she won't go to bed

Is their anyway that you could put up some sort of screen between the crib and your bed. She might be able to see you when she wakes up. If she doesn't see you she might go back to sleep. I also would just let her cry eventually she will get the hint.

I think we're going to have to do this. I think it's too easy for her to see us. We do have a closed end crib, but she looks around the bars for us.
And, luckily, last night, I was going to let her cio, but she slept all night. PHEW!
