I get so frustrated with Cablevision sometimes. We recently moved and had the cable hooked up in our new house. I had the modem from the old house (even in the original box) ready when the guy came. He called in to find out about taking the old modem. He said that when he told them what modem it was, the person on the other end laughed because it is old and they don't want it back. So fine. We get our next bill and there is a $28 charged showing as a balance transferred over. So I called customer service and she says it's because we didn't return the modem. We should return the model and just deduct this amount from our payment. So we returned the modem, got a receipt that says credit acct. and paid the bill minus the $28.
I just got the new bill and it's showing that the $28 as balance due. Grrrr! So I call again and the guy says that it was credited to the old account but then there was no credit on the acct. He really didn't sound like he knew what he was talking about honestly. He said that I need to mail a copy of our receipt for the modem and they will "realize" that they should have credited us. Should I call back tomorrow and hope that I get someone who can actually help me?
Any suggestions?
