Ugh! Diaper leakage trouble - thought we found our solution months ago!
For the longest time Huggies Overnights worked great on DD. For the last week - they are not holding their own. She wakes up soaked! She generally goes to bed around 8PM and wakes around 7AM. The diaper just isn't holding I guess b/c she started drinking more water and I am noticing even during the day she needs to be changed a little more than she used to. She'll be 1 in a few days... I was thinking of going up a size in the overnight diaper - but not sure that's the issue. Doubling up on diapers seems like it would make her too hot and I'd think would cause more diaper rash issues. Any advice? She doesn't complain about being wet, but I feel so bad about it. She never wakes up in the middle of the night so to set an alarm to wake her to change her sounds odd to me.
ETA: I tried Pampers Dry Baby a long time ago and they never worked as an overnight. Before she fit into Huggies Overnights I used to use a diaper doubler in her size 1's and 2's, but they stopped selling them I could use them now!!! Sounds nuts, but what about a maxi pad inside her diaper??? Like one of those thick cheap one's?

I always move up a size in the Overnights once DD starts leaking through them.

I'd go up a size. I've found Huggies Overnights are definitely the best. I used to use Diaper Doublers with my DS, but I don't think they make them anymore. I think some people have put a maxi pad in the diaper to help absorb some of the liquid.

I'll give it a try - I just have a number of Size 4's left - guess I can save them for when #2 needs them. I did buy size 5 last time I went shopping, she's just no where near the weigt range that the package of 5's begins at... in fact she's under the smallest weight for the size 4's - that's why I was concerned... I'm going to have to potty train this kid at a year old b/c she's going to outgrow diapers altogether

For some reason, with the overnights, my DS ALWAYS wore the next highest size on the them...weirdest thing

I've never gone by weight- just by fit. My DD is a peanut, but the size 5s are the only thing that contain the wee overnight.

DD has never worn the diaper that was in her weight range for some reason...the next size up always fit better and provided better leakage protection.

Interesting... so this leaves me with one more question...
I will try to hold onto the left over size 4's for #2 although I'm running out of space for all the stuff we are recycling. However, what do people normally do with open packages of diapers that their DC's grow out of? I'm sorry, I hate wasting the money and know someone must need diapers somewhere.

My friends have been in a "baby boom" for awhile- so any unused diapers have been given to one of them. I'm sure a local church would take them.
If you live locally, I'm sure one of the mommies on here would be glad to take them off your hands.
