Ugh! Going home outfit...

I just read this on babycenter...

"Pick a going-home outfit for your baby. Make sure it has legs to accommodate the car seat straps; save the gowns until you're safely at home."

Ok...I have a little dress with a sweater and socks all packed and ready to go for my little girl. Why is babycenter saying I shouldn't do this? Is it that big of a deal? I really want her to wear the dress home....

I think they mean the long gowns becuase it is hard to put the strap between the babies legs unless you hike it up.. a dress with the little bloomers underneath should be fine I would assume. My friends baby wore a dress home with no problems

I agree, I'm sure your outfit is fine. If the outfit is long, you could probably just hike it up a little for the car ride home, maybe?

I am sure a dress is fine. I don't see how it would interfere with the carseat straps.
