Ugh. I am going to need new kitchen cabinets

Yesterday, as I was cleaning up for company, I went under my kitchen sink to grab a clean dish cloth. The top one was damp, strange I thought, I am always careful to make sure they are dry before putting them away. I went and pulled out as second one, this a little more wet. You can guess where this is going. I somehow had over a foot of water under my kitchen sink. But since my husband likes to keep paper bags and kitchen towels under the sink with cleaning supplies, I did not see the leak. I was under the sink on Tuesday to grab cleaning supplies, and it was dry then. Somehow my sink decided that the fourth of July would be a fab time to leak.

So now I am going to need new kitchen cabinets. If you have installed new cabinets, what brand did you choose? Do you still like them. What features do you have that you like? Are there things I should know. I just as in February did my master bathroom. To say I did not also want to have to do my kitchen in the same year is a massive understatement. Ugh.

Why do you need to get new cabinets because the sink was leaking?

There was nearly 2 feet of water in the cabinet. The bottom of the cabinet is gone.

We have J&K cabinets that have held up beautifully.

Yeah. We have servepro here. They are trying to remediate it and we have the plumber coming to look at everything. We will have to redo our sink, faucet, and all of our kitchen cabinets, tile, counters. I am also concerned about the dishwasher.

Did you contact your HO insurance?

Re: Ugh. I am going to need new kitchen cabinets

Yes, I contacted my insurance. There was 2 feet of water in the cabinet. The bottom of the cabinets are warped about 5 to 10 inches down to the floor. I only kept a bag of bags, cleaning supplies, kitchen towels, apron, and candles there. The candles, bags, and apron were ruined. I am sad about the apron because it had my kids handprints on it from when they were really little. It was destroyed. I threw out the bag collection. I lysol wiped all of the cleaning products and stuck them in a giant Tupperware. We will see if they still look ok when the adjuster comes. I am mostly concerned with cabinet, preventing mold, and will have to redo the kitchen. The appliances are 2 years old. I hope they are ok, if not I will need new. I am also concerned with the wood floor. They measured and the line went red. I will have to have the floors done too.
