Ugh. I think Braxton Hicks have started.
My stomach has been tightening quite a bit this afternoon. The top half of my stomach (between my ribs and belly button) gets tight for a short period of time. It's not painful at all, but I'm slightly worried that it has happened several times.
How long do Braxton Hicks last? At what point, if any, should I be concerned?

I think I'm about a month ahead of you and I've been noticing them for about two week or so. Not daily but every so often. From what I read they are totally normal and nothing to be concerned about. It's so strange that they don't hurt at all. Just feel odd.

The baby has also been rolling around a lot today. I wasn't sure if what I was feeling was just from rolling, but later I realized that my stomach was getting tight. I've heard they're normal, but I wasn't sure if they were supposed to stop after a while. It's definitely a strange feeling.

Re: Ugh. I think Braxton Hicks have started.
At this point it is more normal,
i am due dec 30th and mine started around 15-17 weeks...
I only got nervous about them when i started cramping 3 weeks ago, but doc said that could be from streching..
i get many times upto 20 a day... doc seems weary but not too concerned, but enough to tell me not to fly to NY for my baby shower...
their concern is if i get 6 in an hour, the most I have gotten in an hour are 3. Over the last 3 weeks I have had so many changes and feel a lot more comfortable with them and what problems to look for
You should probably track them when you start having them and atleast call and let your doctor know about them.
always better to play it safe... everyone is different and we are not doctors!

Thanks for the info. I would've called my doctor, but the office was already closed and since I wasn't in any pain, I didn't feel it was necessary to contact the answering service. Luckily, it went away a little while later. I'll definitely keep track of them when they happen again.

Re: Ugh. I think Braxton Hicks have started.
I think I have started to get them too. I freaked out a little last week because I was cramping too, so I went to the dr. and all is good.
