Ugh!! I've Never Had Cramps THIS Bad!!!!
As most of you ladies know I was 9 days late and got AF today.
I have NEVER had cramps this bad. I can barely walk and I almost fell over trying to pick up my DD (who only weighs 22 pounds). I'm getting terrible sharp pains that feel like it's shooting down my "hoo ha". My back is killing me too. DH wants to take me to the hospital, but I don't want some random OB 'down there'. I have an extremely high tolerance for pain (I was up walking around, doing laps on the maternity floor after my c-section and only took Motrin twice). So this is very weird for me to be in this much pain.
Any insight????

do you know when you O'd? this is upsetting, but is it possible you were pregnant and are having an early miscarriage? If you're in that much pain, you should at least see your own doctor, but modesty should never come before your own health!

I took 3 Motrin and went to bed. I didn't sleep well at all. I've been up since 6:45 and the cramps aren't as bad as last night, but still worse than usual. At least I can get around (which is good cause I have the twins today). I don't know what happened but I could barely move.
Maybe it's because I was so late. It was just a little scary last night.

I thought about that, but would I have more blood loss? The flow is normal so far. (Sorry if TMI)

I thought about that, but would I have more blood loss? The flow is normal so far. (Sorry if TMI)
ETA: Spelling
not with a chemical - if you were PG and lost the baby early, it would be pretty much the same as AF.

I'm glad you are feeling better  Are you planning to call your OB/GYN to get his/her opinion?
I'm not one to go to the Dr. (it took me 3.5 weeks to go for the cold I have right now) but, since last night was so extreme, it may be a good idea.
I hope you continue to feel better

If it was the begining of the week, I would go to the Dr (I rarely go to the Dr, or take any meds for that matter) but I have to watch the twins today and tomorrow and my ILs are visiting from NJ this weekend.
I guess if it was a chemical, there is nothing I can do about it anyway, KWIM? Is it really bad if I don't go to the Dr?

if it was your appendix the pain would get worse - and pretty fast!
i remember when i first came off BC my cramps were soooo bad - i literally had to go to bed and curl in a ball to amke myself feel better. if it's better today, i would say you are ok.

It could just be worse cramps because it was late and possibly it was a chemical but hundreds of people, if not thousands have chemicals and never know it
you could mention to the dr. that af was late and really bad cramps, but you also said you werent sure when you O'd so you dont really know if AF was late or not

I've been off BCP since November. I wonder why it only got bad this month.
I guess I'll just tough it out for another couple days, lol.

I had the same type of cramping pain this at the end of my last cycle. I was in so much pain that it kept me up at night because laying down hurt. The cramping went from my lower right side of my back to my tummy and then my va ja ja.
I toyed with going to the hospital but I got a appointment with my gyn instead. It turned out I had a serious bladder infection. She gave me some pain meds and antibiotics.
It was the worst cramps I've ever had.
Definitely got to the your GYN or the HOSPITAL. You never know what it can be. Better safe than sorry.

I would say just make an appointment with your OB/GYN just to make sure you are okay. I and darling husband are the same way with the OB/GYN.

That's true too. I just couldn't believe how awful the pain was last night. It's starting to get better now. If it doesn't go away by tomorrow I'm gonna call the Dr.
