Ugh, pretty sure I lost my phone on LIRR/Penn
Would you suspend service ASAP or leave it on for the day and hope someone answers my continued calls I filled on the LIRR Lost & Found paperwork already - not that I think that's going to solve my mystery

I'd wait at least a few hours. See if someone answers your repeated calls. Ive cancelled a phone right away after losing it and then of course it turned up.

I'd try to keep calling. I lost my phone twice and both times, the person who found it, contacted me or someone I knew off my contacts list and it was returned both times!!

I wouldn't suspend service yet - keep calling.
I found a phone yesterday, and was able to identify the owner's daughter from some texts. I sent her a text from that phone to tell them we found it and they came right over to pick it up.

Don't lose hope. I left my wallet on the train and the Lost and Found office called me one week later saying they had it.
Just give it about a week. Maybe they will call you.

Maybe you can let your phone service know? That way if someone steals your phone and runs up charges you're not held responsible?

I would keep trying to call it & follow-up with the LIRR daily. You can monitor calls from the phone online.
One thing when you pick up from Penn, they may ask you to bring a power cord because often times the phone batteries are dead.
