Ugh! Third failed attempt

My parents have had their house on the market not too long but they have had 3 people who they agreed to sell to and each one of them has fallen through the cracks. One suddenly can't get the mortgage, another couldn't come up with enough of a down payment... yadda yadda yadda. They are stressing because the owners of the condo that they want really wanted to close by the end of August but it's all contingent on my parent's house selling! They're at their wits end! Anyone wanna buy in Massapequa PK??

Mortgage companies are clamping down on subprime lending. Especially after the stock market crash yesterday I think you are going to see a lot of deals falling through because poorly qualified buyers will not be able to get financing.

i feel their pain... our deal fell through the first week in july, we're still waiting for another offer. it's so frustrating. good luck to them

I'm sorry to hear they are going through this. The same thing happened to us 4 times, and it gets very discouraging after awhile. When we received the offer that finally stuck, we were not excited about it at all--we assumed they would back out for some reason also.

I think people are getting very picky about what they buy, and second-guessing their initial selections more often now. There is a load of stuff on the market, so I think many just think they'll keep looking if something is less than perfect.

I hope they find a buyer very quickly and can still get the condo they want!
