Ugh. What a day. Grrrr to UPS

So I have a small group starting tutoring at a remote center tomorrow. On Thursday I had the books for the last student overnighted. Got a call from the dad. No books. UPS tracking number says it was picked up, and the last scan is at their depot in the same place it was picked up. It was scheduled for this morning delivery. it was 4pm, and yet it said "on time" um yeah.

So I call UPS and they tell me they never got the package. Um. yes, you did. it's in the system, and it's in NJ, as it says online...
UPS: "well, our system is better than yours".
"Umm..this is your system"

So then I find another book and bring it to the UPS store down the road, have it overnighted for saturday AM delivery, and he says it'll get there by 12..too bad the lesson is 10-12, but I have to take the chance.

I walk back into the office, and who is knocking on the door, but the tutor for the class at the remote center, here for something completely different and I didn't know he was going to be there. So after all of that, I handed him the book for the kid. What an expensive and time consuming waste.

At that point my boss was like "ok now you go home!"
