Ugh...asthma related q
I am really struggling to give Noah his Ventalin inhaler, so I have no idea if it works or not. He is waking himself up coughing every night at the moment and the more he gets himself worked up, the more he coughs. So, I need to pin the kid down to give him the inhaler through the spacer...just the sight of the inhaler/spacer coming towards his face scares the crap out of him and he goes hysterical. (I can't blame him) So now what...
I am feeling terrible about the whole thing really...I feel guilty that he probably has the asthma, but I need to give him the medication to see if it helps. What a palaver.
Oh yeah, the question was...does anyone have any tips on how to give an inhaler with a spacer to a toddler???

My DD has asthma - She takes Singulair every night and we use the nebulizer with Albuteral. It's difficult to give to her - I try to do it in her hight chair or while she is watching tv. I'm not sure if this is the same kind of treatment your using... Do you have a respitory therapist?
