That's the reason we are not going anywhere today! My tank is on E and I am just not in the mood to pay the price to fill it up! Costs me close to $80 too to fill up! Ridiculous!!

It's not just SUVs. Our car is in the shop, so we have a Maxima as a rental and it is costing an arm 'n leg even using regular. I want our CR-V back bc it has better gas mileage.

I feel your pain- mine is about $70 to fill from 1/4 tank
I love my SUV and I feel safe in it- but I still get sick thinking that my gas $$$ just doubled
my car actually gets pretty decent milage also-

We have it hard in the UK I drive a Ford Focus and it costs me around $75-$30 to fill the tank, the cost of gas here is 95p for a litre, to thats around 4 litres in a gallon, thats around £3.60 for a gallon, with todays exchange rate....thats $6.65 per gallon.

ETA: I heard people from London actually fly to NY during the holidays to do their shopping!!!

Re: Ughhh...$40 for 1/2 tank of gas
Actually- I was just watching John Stossel on the news this morning-- and the price of gas is really only like 20 cents more a gallon-- if you take the cost if inflation into account-- and as other posters stated, in the US it's still much cheaper than in other countries.

This may be true but oil companies are still making BILLIONS in PROFIT while we suffer!

countries in Europe have different tax laws.
They don't have income taxes, (or as much as we pay) and instead consumer products are taxed higher.
If you look at a report of pre tax gas prices around the world - we pay almost the most.
