ugly bathroom border... (added pics)

We moved into our new home a month ago, and have already renovated (painted and put down new flooring) three rooms. So we have to slow down a bit and live with what we have for now. But I want to make a small change and I need help!

We have four bathrooms, 2 of which are totally 1980's. One of them isn't *so* bad, the countertop is fake marble Chat Icon or something, but the walls are yellow (creamy/buttery yellow, not bright) and the floor is adorable. BUT there is a god-awful wallpaper border at the top of the walls. I just bought the cutest shower curtain: yellow, reds, olives, etc, along with a red bathmat and it looks FAB (for now Chat Icon ) but the border needs to come down to make it work.

We do not want to paint the entire bathroom right now, since we will probably be renovating it later on this year. I was thinking that I could take the colors of the shower curtain (reds, olives, this copper color...) and PAINT some sort of border where the old border used to be??? (we scraped some off, and it's white underneath, so we have to do something). Any ideas?
Thanks! Chat Icon Sorry I am so long-winded. Chat Icon

paint it! It can't take longer than 3 hours. Buy cheap paint!

Or maybe cover with a different border?

ETA- i LOVE the floor.

I would do the same thing - just paint the border! Nice shower curtain!

Do you mean paint the whole room or paint ON the actual border or take the border down and paint a border of (insert color here) along the top of the wall? Chat Icon

I think it might be difficult to paint the border in the matching paint unless you use a contrasting paint in the red that in the the bath-mat and shower curtain? You could just tape right below the old border, giving you the line to follow, and then paint above it.

Or, how about finding a different border that would match your new color scheme and sticking that on over the old one?

But wiill it looks dumb if I paint the border red??? That was my original thought...will the contrast be too much?
