Ultrascreen with multiples
Did all of you have an ultrascreen, did anyone get a false positive?
DH was just reading that there is a 12.6 false positive rate with multiples compared to a 2.5 % false positive with single births.

Re: Ultrascreen with multiples
I had an ultrascreen with mine, and while the blood test came back fine, there was a neck thickness issue on one of them, and we needed furthur testing becuase of that, and they found out one of my boys had a pulmonary stenosis. I am so glad we had the test because at first it was not noticed becuase fo the overall good results of the test, but one great result and one bad result averaged together can make you pass.
It is hard becuase you can't quantify which is which in the blood test so I think that is why there are so many false positives. This test is really used to determine if you need furthur testing it is not an absolute.
Good Luck!

Re: Ultrascreen with multiples
THe false positive risk was the reason we chose not to have the ultrascreen.

Re: Ultrascreen with multiples
We did nothave it either. They did look closely during the level 2 sono for the neck thickness as well since neuro-tube defects ran in my DHs family (his 1st cousin has spinabifida)
