um ew bedbugs
at my job
someone brought them in, how nice
so any tips on how i can make sure i dont take these bad boys home?

Bedbugs gross me out like nothing else. Im petrified of them....
I would think you'd have to toss your clothes before you go into your house. Neighbors should love that! 
Don't you hate when people reply to your post and don't offer advice, but just agree with you about the grossness?

i actually really appreciate it right now bc i am trying to be professional about this at work but really i want to run around giving myself a cootie shot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and the guy is all mad bc we found out bc of a phone conversation he had and he feels his privacy was invaded - um we dont have WALLS we have CUBICLES!!
i wrapped up my purse in two plastic bags and took everything up off the floor. . . . i dont know what else to do!!!

pesticide will not help..
in my school we always have bed bugs...I buy the big ziploc (big bags) and place my bag and coat in there everyday
never carry giftbags or plastic bags back and forth between work
and never put your coat in the closet I keep my stuff on a chair in a bag

Maybe try orange oil. Lots of bugs hate orange oil.

I would buy those huge ziploc storage bags or spacebags and keep your coat and anything else in them. Keep in mind, though, that they can get into wood crevices, too (your chair and desk, maybe?) When you get home, toss your clothes into a plastic bag until they're ready for the wash and seal the bag. Do you have a washer & dryer at home? I'd wash in HOT water nightly.
We had them in our apartment a couple of years ago. It was NOT FUN. Your office should contact an exterminator, it's the only way to get rid of them. However, if you don't find out where they came from, whoever brought them in could bring them back.
Please don't hold it against whoever brought them in, though. He/she might not even know...they can be brought in from suitcases, or from neighbors in an apt. building (that's how we got them).

Apartment therapy has had a lot of coverage regarding bed bugs. Here is one article link
and if you search their site for bed bugs you can find an 8 part series they did with someone who was going through getting rid of them after they came over from a neighbors apartment. There are some really good tips.
Ever since I heard of them DH and I use one of those matress covers because I get so paranoid.

From what I understand, the matress cover is just to protect your matress. I read that you have to get rid of the matress if you have them because they can live in there for a long time.
It doesn't protect anything else. I was just really grossed out at the thought of them in my bed.

ahh so if you put it on and then few wees later you see dead bugs you know you had them? OMG I would die.
All my thngs are new but you have me scared when you sad they can come from neighbors if they have them
