Umbrella policy with home/auto insurance
DH and I are trying to finalize our homeowners insurance today. Do you guys think that it's necessary to have an umbrella policy?
TIA

Re: Umbrella policy with home/auto insurance
We have one. I think it is just added protection. We have a pool, boat and jetski, so those types of things can potentially be dangerous. I wanted to make sure we were covered god forbid.
We gout ours through geico and it covers, house, cars, ect... and it was around $500 a year.

Yes! The 500k you are prob carrying on your home policy and auto policy is peanuts in the event that a liability claim were to occur.
Hopefully you never have to use it, but if you do, you will thank yourself later.

I think it is a good idea. We have a million dollar umbrella policy.
