Umm, how do you explain how the "lovey" grew?
So a while back I mentioned that Sabrina didn't have a lovey. Nothing really struck her fancy, no matter how hard I tried.
Well, a few months ago DH went on a business trip to London and brought back a stuffed Peter Rabbit that he bought in Harrod's. Guess what? She loves it!
Fast forward to two weeks ago when Sabrina was sick. Her dearly beloved Peter Rabbit got puked on So Mommy scrubbed him and rinsed and shampooed and rinsed and tossed him the dryer with a dryer sheet. And he came okay and all was well again.
Then DH got the idea to get a few more of these little guys in case we have a lovey emergency. He asked around the office and found out that the sister of a coworker was actually coming in from London. He told her what he was looking for and asked her to pick up two of them.
Well, she got them, but...THEY ARE TWICE AS BIG AS THE FIRST ONE!
Now we haven't even introduced them to DD yet, but in the event that we need to replace the existing one, how do you explain to a toddler that the lovey grew?
Leave it to my daughter to fall in love with Peter Rabbit from Harrod's instead of just a $3.99 Target or Walmart soft thingy

She will know the difference. They can smell it. We have kids who won't use theirs after it is washed sometimes. Maybe try and swap for the big one now and then rotate them every two weeks or so, then they will have the same amount of wear and tear

Maybe tell her he's been eating a lot of carrots? Or tell him his birthday is coming up, and not long after the birthday, introduce the bigger Peter Rabbit? You can say he grew.
We've been looking all over for a replacement lovey, but no luck so far. DS tolerates him after he's been washed, but I have heard some kids don't.

She will like it, but it won't be THE lovey.
Christopher fell in love with a discontinued "blankie", we bought another from Ebay, but he doesn't love it the way he loves THE blankie
