sorry to say I feel the same way. In fact most of the years I've been in the city I've felt this way. Try to focus on their "good" moments. Some years these have been few and far between

Re: Ummm, I need help...
I have three classes- one 6th and two 8th... one 8th is WONDERFUL! I can do so many great things with them because they actually LISTEN and cooperate! The other 8th grade- they are a rollercoaster - one day they are excellent, the next they are absolutely the 6th graders are cute- they are very immature and have very "baby-ish" issues- they are okay- not my favorite 6th grade class ever, but I am dealing!
Tips? Do you have a class reward system? sometimes this helps... I call mine Star 2000- they have to earn 2000 points and when they do they have a class reward- pizza/movie/popcorn/games whatever they vote on- I give them guidlines to get to 2000 points- and they usually earn about 100 a day... sometimes less, sometimes more- and points CAN be taken away.
individual- with the 6th graders I give tickets for positive behavior, fanstastic/insightful answers/100% of the class doing homework/whatever I want them to get a ticket for...

I have a whole class reward (fill the jar to get two parties) Then I have group rewards for weekly prizes. I am going to start doing individual color coding now.
