Ummm... whats up with the 'tude?
So, this morning - VERY early in the morning... Cailen is rolling all over me on the couch - we do this every morning... he rolls, hugs me, coos, etc... all happy and giggly....
Whenever DH comes into the room, he smiles, gets all excited, and DH will come and give him a kiss, talk to him, and continue to ge ready for work....
Cailen continued to be all smiley and giggly until he watched DH put his boots on.
His face got very sad. It was so weird. He completely changed.
DH went to kiss him goodbye, and he did something we never saw before.
He TURNED away from DH and ignored him!!! He completely looked the other way, but sort of smirked as he was doing it - that was after DH was kissing him for a bit. For a minute he made no face at all....
When DH got up from kissing him, Cailen looked back up at him... DH went to kiss him again, and he did the same thing!!! It was different than when he plays a game, because he usually gets all squeaky and silly and really looks at us...
Do you guys think he is MAD at DH for leaving???
Is he going to get all these dad issues now???
I know he's still such a little baby, and he will have so many great experiences with DH that he won't always see him as "the dad that leaves at the crack of dawn (and sometimes comes home when I'm sleeping)" but are things being formed in his mind already???

I wouldn't worry too much about it. He could be starting separation anxiety but I think it's unlikely.
As for him growing up, Maddie still gets up at 5:30am to run to the door to wave goodbye to DH as he leaves.

Re: Ummm... whats up with the 'tude?
I think it is just another stage that he is going thru. He will be fine and he won't have any daddy issues. Luka only saw my DH twice durning the week and that was on a good week when he was little. DH usually was gone when he woke up and was asleep when he got home. Now that DS is 17 months that kid is clued to my husband from the time he comes home until he goes to bed. If we hadn't moved to be closer to his job it would have been the same thing with DD.

I wouldn't worry. Most babies go through stages where they prefer Mommy over Daddy, and there's a "I want Daddy more" stage too. Sarah recently started wanting me to do everything for her, even when DH is home, for a long time if DH was home neither kid noticed me.

DS does that sometimes too! He actually does it with the nanny mostly though Sometimes when she says goodbye to him at the end of the day, he will turn away from her like he is mad at her for leaving He also hugs me tighter so I really don't mind too much

My DD does this when DH goes to work. She won't hug him or kiss him and if he calls and wants to talk to her she refuses. But then as soon as she hears the door open she runs to him and gives him a big hug and kiss.
