unemployed 1 year
I am a newlywed and my husband has been unemployed for a year next month. Its beginning to take its toll. Extremely frustrated and worried. He is now more depressed than I have ever seen him. He is a graphic designer, has done some freelance and unemployment has pretty much lasted most of this year with the extensions. He has a bachelors in Graphic Design, not excellent in writing or math but average. He is getting interviews monthly and was offered one job a year ago but he didn't realize nothing better would have came along and turned them down. Looking into other options. We were thinking CDL license but he couldn't pass a driving test anytime soon because he recently had a serious eye surgery - although he can drive a regular car, a company will never hire him. He tried the Post Office and their eye doctor gave him a hard time. He has applied to banks, some stores, cablevision type stuff but NOTHING.
Any ideas or good wishes appreciated. Not sure how much longer we can go like this. I have good job, I think its steady and have health insurance for us but my job is not enough.
