I had 1 with the principal, 1 with the assistant principal, 2 with my chairperson, and 1 with the assistant superintendent of curriculum. I also had a few of the 5-10 minute pop-ins - but everyone gets those.

When I was untenured I had 4 a year. 2 announced and 2 pop in observations. Plus an additional one my first and 3rd year by the superintendent.

At my first district, untenured teachers had 4 observations, all announced. They were by the principal and the AP. (I was a leave replacement for one year, but they observed me as if I were going to stay).
At my current district, they do 3 observations... the first year, the principal does one, the superintendent does one, and either the AP or the principal does one. This year, my tenure year, I have had one with the principal, and two with the assistant superintendent.

2 formal, and then a smattering of informal. Though, I've got the smart board this week, so they'll probably be in and out all week.

We have 4 observations 2 announced and 2 unannounced and then we had a "visit" from the superintendent. I was observed on Thursday and Im waiting for the follow up this week... then I have one more to do.

Department Head comes 3 times, Principal twice, Assistant Principal twice, and Superintendent once, each year. YIKES!

My district, they did 3 for untenured, and 1 for tenured.
Im tenured and still have NOT been aobserved...maybe I will get lucky
