Up and down on the scale?
I've really been making an effort to watch what I eat, and I think I am down a few pounds. However, I weigh myself every morning, and some days I weigh up to 3 lbs. more than other mornings! It does not seem to have anything to do with time of month, or what I ate the day before, because I am keeping a journal and am pretty consistant. Not sure if it is my scale, or me... Anyone else have this?

Re: Up and down on the scale?
I have noticed that even when I am consistently losing weight, I have weird fluctuations. For example, I'll lose like 2 lbs. one week, then 1 lb. then 0.2 lb, then 0.4 lb, then 1.5 lb and that cycle sort of continues. I think for me, it is related to my menstral cycle, it is the only thing that makes sense to me.
I also think it sometimes fluctuates depending on how much I exercise and what type of exercise I do. I have better losses when I go to Curves and do the weight training 3x a week than I do when I just walk.

Yes and it's very frustrating. I have differences some days of up to 5 lbs. How can that be? Also, I have a body fat percentage scale and no matter how much weight I lose, I never lose any body fat. It makes zero sense to me.

I also weigh like 5 or 6 lbs. heavier before bed than I do in the mornings. I think I was better off before we had a scale!

Re: Up and down on the scale?
Stop driving yourself crazy. You're not supposed to weigh yourself every day. A weekly weigh in is the accurate way to see if you're losing weight.

you're not supposed to weigh yourself period...you're better off measuring with a tape measure!
It's alos known that home scales are nowhere near as accurate as a Dr's scale!

You really can make yourself nuts weighing yourself every day. I've done it too, now I am trying to do once a week, same day and time.

I agree!! Stop weighing yourself. I hardly ever weigh myself. I see how Phil weighs himself and it drives him nuts and I refuse to do that to myself.
Go by how your clothes fit.
When I stop working out I weigh less, but it's because I am losing muscle tone.
Why don't you do the races with Amanda and I? It really keeps you motivated to keep exercising, plus it's fun!!!

Re: Up and down on the scale?
I weigh myself everyday too. Some times twice. It's more out of curiosity than anything else. I think the small changes throughout the day are usually water retention. I go up & down 3 pouds, buyt DH can go up to 6 or 7 or so. And really quickly too, like right before dinner & right after dinner.
