Update --Carters Store in CARLE Place-Rant

I dont live in LI, but when I am there I usually go to this store since the quality is great for DS's daycare clothes.
I went in with a $10 coupon on Saturday which expires 12/31/2008 and they would NOT accept it---even though I had about $100 I was looking to spend on DS, my nephew and some other kids.
The manager wouldnt budge and I explained that is was terrible PR/customer service to grant me a coupon and NOT accept it!!
I left the clothes there and walked out--Just wrote a letter to corporate--I will see what happens
Anyone experience this there?

They said they "Were unable to accept them" and "save the card since they may reinstate the program at a later date"
These both make NO sense!!!

That is strange I have never had a problem with them when I shopped there in the past - they have let me use coupons from them and even exchange clothes for the correct size without a receipt on a regular basis.
I would definitely call b/c that doesn't sound right

Yeah, they "discontinued" the program with the coupon. I was told something similar at the one here in Chicago, but they took the coupon from me. That's really bad customer service (what they did to you.) I would buy Carter's clothes elsewhere. BRU here carries most of the same stuff.

Not at that location, but I have even had employees let me use TWO coupons when it says 1 per person....

I was livid!! The whole reason I had the coupon was based on the $$ I spent in October-Nov for DS. I accumulated a certain # of points and it equaled a $10 coupon.
I am still waiting for a response--but you are right--I will call also

That's [email protected] shouldn't be allowed to do that. There is also a Carters in The Source not far from there if that helps.

I had this too and my expiration date was 12/2008 - when the lasy looked at it she said I was one of the lucky ones - the 2008 was a misprint and should have been Dec. 2007. She let me use mine no problem. It was a mistake on Carters end so - that is not your problem, they should have let you use that coupon. I would have been pi$$ed too and walked out.

I DESPISE the Carle Place Carters. Everytime I go there I get into a fight with one of the workers. They are the worst.

I'm glad you got a good response from them. I would go use the GC and never shop at that store again though. I hold grudges about stuff like that.
