UPDATE! - Please keep Sushi in your prayers
Update!!!!! Tuesday I took Sushi back to the vet and made sure to see her regular doctor. He did not have a problem aspirating it without sedating her (although it did take two techs, a pair of gloves and a towel to hold her down). He aspirated three syringes of fluid and he felt that it was not cancerous and likely a cyst but he would still send it out. He called this morning to let me know that the results did not show any cancer. That it was mostly comprised of water and he is confident that a cyst is all that it is. He said we'd keep and eye on it and if it fills up again (likely), because of the location, it would be beneficial to remove it. However, he feels doing so will be 100% curative. Thanks for everyone's prayers! They certainly worked!!!!!!!!!
Wednesday night during one of Sushi's mushy moments, I was stroking her tail and felt a large bump there. I pressed it and it did not seem to bother her (and she CERTAINLY would have let me know if it did ). I of course started Googling and took her to the vet today. He ruled out and abscess but gave her a steroid anti-inflammatory to see if may be it will go down in a few days. Our next step is to either sedate her and aspirate the mass (only 50% accurate) or remove and biopsy the mass. Because of its location the vet would rather remove it but it could lend itself to a lot of bleeding and there is not a lot of extra tissue to play with. Please pray for my Sushi Girl. If it turns out to be cancerous, they would have to remove her whole tail

Re: Please keep Sushi in your prayers
im so sorry! many many prayers! if it eventually comes down to it, I once had a cat who iinjured her tail and we had to remove it. She was totally fine after it was removed and recovered nicely. I'd even say she looked adorable with her little stubby butt.
