UPDATE - So I got a flat iron....
Verdict was the Sedu 1.5 inch. I have really long thick hair so the 1.5 was best. Well I just received it from Folica.com...I will let you know what I think this weekend.

I too have the Sedu and love it!
Folica is a great website and the shipping was soo quick I literally got it the day after I ordered it.
100% recommend the Sedu and Folica!

There are no vents to let the steam out so I believe the answer is no. This iron has multiple temp settings and can get pretty hot. I personally have not had luck straight ironing wet hair...it never works out right. I actually replaced my Babybliss (sp?) wet/dry.
