UPDATE BELOW...I got so dizzy and almost passed out at my sono this morning
I had my last sono today at 36 wks. I was laying down and all of a sudden got extremely hot, felt nauseous and started sweating. I felt like the blood was rushing to my head like when you stand up too fast. I felt like I was going to pass out. The sono tech saw something was wrong and asked if I was ok. I asked if I could sit up for a minute and after a little while I felt better so I layed back down so she can finish and than it happened again. She said that it is not uncommon for women to feel like that towards the end during a sono b/c the baby is so big and when you lay on your back the baby lays all its weight on your nerves and blood vessels. I got really scared and still feel kind of yucky. I hope everything is ok with the baby now.

Sometimes that happens when Im trying to get comfortable in bed and I end up lying on my back. I just roll onto my left side for a few and then it goes away.
Edited because I cant spell today!

This has never happened to me before that is why it really scared me. Now my anxiety is getting worked up

Re: UPDATE BELOW...I got so dizzy and almost passed out at my sono this morning
Well I couldnt stop thinking about what happened this morning. I just kept thinking something could be wrong. I called my dr. and they had me come in to check my blood pressure and check the baby. Everything is fine! They said they have actually had women pass out during their last sono. There is a major artery that runs down the side of your spine that pumps blood from your heart to your lower half (legs and organs). When women who are late in pregnancy lay on their backs, sometimes the baby (being a lot heavier now) can lay directly on that artery and basically cut off or slow down blood circulation leading to dizziness and sometimes passing out. Luckily I have no more sonos (so I wont go through this again) and just have to make sure to stay off my back for now!
