UPDATE in 1st post!!!! 30 weeks and sudden blurry vision
This is the 2nd time it's happened to me and now I am worried. I called my OB and have an appt. at 2.
First time happened a few weeks ago. I threw up up b/c I must have ate something that didnt agree with me. After I threw up I saw stars and got up to go lay down in bed. In my left eye I lost my central vision for about a minute, almost like when the eye dr. shines the little flashlight into your eye during an exam. I called my OB's emergency line b/c I thought it could be my blood pressure. She said she didnt think so...it was probably b/c I threw up I could have strained my eye or something. It never happened again so I let it go.
Today, I took DS out to lunch. I dropped something on the floor so I bent down to pick it up. As I sat back up I saw stars. Shortly after the same thing happened but in my right eye...just the center of my eye vision went blurry.
I am going to my OB and am going to make an appt. with my eye dr. but does anyone have any idea what it could be? Has something like this ever happened to you? I never had this happen before so I can only assume it's from the pregnancy.
UPDATE Well I went to the OB...my blood pressue is good, 115/60 and my urine was fine.
After the OB I went to the eye dr. who did a thorough exam even took pictures of my macular, the blood vessels in my eyes and looked for swelling and he found nothing wrong.
Both dr's think it could be from blood pressure changes from either sitting up too quickly or moving too quickly. But if it happens again, the eye dr. wants me to call him right away.

Re: 30 weeks and sudden blurry vision
this has not happened to me but when I was at the OB's office last week & my BP was high, they asked me if I had any blurry vision. They said that is an indication of preclampsia.
Hope you get some news at 2

Re: 30 weeks and sudden blurry vision
I've heard that is a sign of pre-eclampsia---good thing you are going to the doctor. Hope you feel better!

Re: 30 weeks and sudden blurry vision
yes!
last pregnancy i had a period of time in third tri when i would occasionally get visual stuff like that. very strange. i had no blood pressure issues whatsoever, either.
this pregnancy i occasionally randomly will have a visual disturbance, kinda like small shooting beams of light. it's really weird, but i don't really think much of it, i think they're just floaters.
i would check with your OB and just let them know it's happening. better safe than sorry, although i'm sure all is ok

I know with Miki, whenever I had blurry vision, my BP was high
good luck at the OB

Re: 30 weeks and sudden blurry vision
i've had vision things too- and my blood pressure is consistently 120/78.
Mine's not happening after seeing stars though --- it mostly happens when i go from daylight to a darker room. It's almost like my eyes are having trouble focusing/adjusting to the light.

Re: 30 weeks and sudden blurry vision
I had this happen to me at 25 weeks and it did not get better until I delivered. I ended up having preeclampsia. Can you lie down on your left side or at least keep your feet elevated? Also drink a lot of water. If you have a headache let your OBGYN know that too. Good luck!
