UPDATE in 1st post: Need your opinions please
As you know my IUI was cancelled last week. I spoke w/ my dr earlier this week and he mentioned ovarian drilling, which I am completely against.... that being said, he called in a prescription for provera for me so we could get started back up ASAP.
My dr doesn't know I'm going to see another dr. I'm not ready to tell him yet, as I haven't made any decisoins about anything.
So my question--- would you take the provera? I feel like I want my body to rest. Also, when I go to LI-IVF on May 12th, should I plan on them taking bloodwork if it's just a consult? And if so, does it matter what day I'm in on my cycle?
UPDATE-
AF is slowly making her appearance. I was kind of hoping she'd wait a while so I wouldn't have to go thru provera when I meet w/ a new dr... but no such luck.
I'm guessing it's from all of the follies this month- but my AF is KILLING me w/ cramps.  All day I've been crampy and am keeping a throw on my stomach to try to keep it a little warm- it seems to help a little.
Also, (sorry for TMI) - I don't feel dry at all but am SO sore when I wipe... I can't figure out why though.  I haven't had any sonograms in over a week now and we haven't BDd at all for a week and a half, so I'm completely stumped...

I would wait. You may not even need provera - you had so many follies one (or more of them) might have released an egg on its own.
ETA: did he test your progesterone to see if you did ovulate?

Not yet. I'm supposed to go back next week to see where I'm at- if I have any cysts, the size of my ovaries, etc... I'm guessing he'll check then. Though maybe not- b/c he was quick to call in the provera. We BDd the tuesday (or monday?) before my IUI - which should've been last Thurs or Fri... until he cancelled it. But we haven't BDd since, so the odds are really slim. He made me too nervous w/ the amount of follicles and made it seem like we shouldn't try on our own.
When I asked him what would happen to the follicles, he said they'd all dissapate but didn't say any would release... so who knows. I don't tend to ovulate on my own.....

You never know - you may have surged on your own. I'd hold off on the Provera at this point.

I agree with the other ladies. Give your body a break for a few weeks. Hopefully you O'd on your own with that many follies.

Agree with everyone else- Hold off on the Provera...At my initial consult, no B/W was done (but I'm not w/ LI-IVF)...I came back in on Day 3 and from what I remember I was given a script for Provera at the consult itself...

What is ovarian drilling? That does not sound fun at all.
HUGS. And why shouldn't you try your own? I mean, can something really bad happen?

Ovarian drilling is where they drill into your ovary several times--- it's supposed to do something to the hormones ..
NOT FOR ME though...
The reason we weren't to try on our own was b/c I had over 15 mature follicles this month... from the meds... and it was very dangerous that I might get pg and end up having several (like 8) kids!  It would've put me in a really bad situation....
so we'll see what next month brings...

I thought that too but she's here... (at least I'm assuming it's her)
When I spoke to my dr the other day he asked me if she had arrived yet and I told him no, which is why he wanted me to start on provera--- that was only like 5 days after I stopped taking the injections. That confused me as well, but it seems as though he's not far off....

sorry for the TMI but I have noticed that my vajayjay gets REALLY sore right before I pass a big clot with my period, since you had a lot of follies I am thinking that may be you have a lot of clots passing through. I hope you feel better
