Update: It's Coxsackie.... UGHHHH Should I have taken DD to the ER last night?
DH just got back from the Dr. It's Coxsackie....
In a way I feel bad that this happened while he's on vacation....although there have been plenty of times she's been sick while I had a few days off.
My poor kid... told us just to keep plenty of liquids in her.
DD 3 came home from Daycare and complained her tummy hurt. By 7:00 she had 102.7 fever. I gave her Tylenol.
She was mopey and just wanted lay down with me and cuddle. She was drinking milk and water so she wasn't dehydrated.
By 11:00 her temp shot up to 104. I gave her motrin, cold rag on her head. She slept with us.
My mom is passed and I don't have brother's / sisters to call in the middle of the night....I felt so helpless.
She woke up a few times in the middle of the night saying she was thirsty and would drink water.
So am I the worst mommy on the earth for not running straight to the ER?
DH is home with her today (he's on vacation this week). She was talkative when I left for work and said she felt better.
I just hate seeing her this way.
Thanks for listening

Re: Should I have taken DD to the ER last night?
My son is 13 months, and on Sat had a fever of 104.3. I called the dr and he said to not let numbers scare me. He said to base it on his actions. As long as he is drinking and having wet diapers, having conversations (babbling), then dont worry too much. He say if he became very lethargic, and wouldnt do anything, then thats when to be concerned.
Hope she is feeling better!!!

You are NOT a bad mommy! I would follow up with the Dr. today....just to be safe.
Also, maybe you can find out if your Dr. has an after-hours # where you can speak to someone? My Peditrician has that...the # goes straight to St. Charles hospital....
