Update, my cat is losing a ton of fur...
Poor thing has red inflamed spots all over him...and dandruff...and now I have hairballs all over because he keeps licking himself and then throwing up (sorry I know, gross  ). We are going to try to get him an appt tonight at the vet but has anyone ever experienced this? Could it be from the cold & dry air? He never had this before and he is almost 6.

hmmm, alot of things can cause hair loss. Be sure that the vet does a full blood workup to check all the organs.
