Update on My Stop and Shop Experience
So, after stewing about it for two days, I decided to send a letter (email) to Stop and Shop and vowed not to go back to that store ever. I just received a call from the store manager who profusely apologized about my experience. She said that she spoke with the Front Line Supervisor who tracked me down in the parking lot (and whose version of events matched mine) and told her that her behavior was against company guidelines. She also said she would have a refresher class for her aisle workers on where items were located in the store. She wanted to make sure that I continued to shop at S&S and asked what she could do to make sure I did so. I didnt know what to say so I asked what typically was done in situations like this. She said why dont I send you a gift card to which I graciously accepted her offer. Since S&S is my regular grocery store, whatever amount it is, is greatly appreciated even though I really just wanted an apology for being falsely called a thief! Moral of the story: if you feel wronged, write the letter, if nothing else, it will make you feel better!

I read your thread the other day and I am happy to hear you had a positive update.
Stop & Shop is one of the main shopping options by me (as well as closest) and while in the grand scheme of things, it should be let go, in the moment this is one of those things that personally would've really pi$$ed me off.

That's great! We also have some beef with Stop and Shop lol. The one we go to, all the workers are always on their cell phones. DH wrote an email to the store because it was happening a few times while we were on line, couldn't find a person to help us find something but could find people hiding on their phones, etc. He also got a response similar to yours.

wow... im glad they did good by you!! if you dont mind can you FM what store what it was? i'm sooooo curious, i work for a food distributor for the last 8 years and my only account is Stop and Shop.. i cover nassau, suffolk, brooklyn, bronx, queens and staten island, im in the stores everyday!!.. i'm just dying to know!!! if not, no biggie!! glad to hear the manager was helpful in the end!!

That would have never flown in my Stop & Shop even considering that my store is in an area that you do see people steal.
S&S corporate usually does right by the customers, plus there's a poster usually up by Customer Service that lists the phone number of the District Manager. Good to see they resolved it in a nice way.
