UPDATE on pg1 - THANK YOU - having atough day - need hugs
I can't come on to LIF much anymore since returning to work. I really miss reading about everyone's lives and the support that you ladies so graciously give.
I'm having a really tough day today. I broke down at work crying this morning.
DS is 6 months old and just cries and cries all day. I thought it was supposed to get easier when they got older.
Between the slight cold he has, the teething, and what I think is severe reflux, my poor DS is always in pain.
I haven't slept in over a month. He was up from 2:30 to 5:30 last night coughing and would only stop crying when I held in the rocking chair.
We went for his 6 mo visit on Sunday and the dr. suggested Zantac as an option for his reflux. We wanted to go home and think about it. We decided we would go ahead with it.
Well, I called the dr.s office monday, and tuesday and NO CALL BACK. I called again fuming asking why the dr didn't call back and if it was a situation where I should have made an appt. Well, the receptionist said, "then why don't you just make an appt?". WHY WOULDN"T YOU HAVE TOLD ME THAT ON MONDAY???
Plus, I am so disgusted that a doctor's office would not call back at all for 2 days straight. This is the 2nd office we've been to.
I'm just so tired and frustrated and hurting for my poor DS, who smiles with that angelic face one minute and then is screaming in pain the next. I just want him to be comfortable.
Thank you so much for reading. Just really needed to vent today.
UPDATE 10/27/08 -
Thank you so much to all the ladies who sent hugs and took the time to read my post last week!!!
DS started Zantac and I think it is really working. He was a happy, pleasant baby all weekend and was full of smiles for mommy and daddy!!
His first tooth finally popped through and though he still has a touch of a cold, he's a like a new baby!!
Thank you all again!!!!!!

Re: having atough day - need hugs
Oooh Holly I am so sorry. And I am mad FOR you regarding the doctor!!! I hope the Zantac will help!!!! And as far as the cold and cough, I don't think you can do anything but wait it out. Last month Athan became very clingy too with the teething. I just have to hold him a lot more and he started getting up more at around 3:00 am whimpering and crying out so I would hold him for a while and sooth him. I hope Frankie feels better soon!!! Do you think it may still be the formula too?

It's so hard sometimes, just remember this will pass too.
I would definitely bring your son to the Dr and get him on the mend even sooner

I'm not sure if it's the formula. he spits up at least 3-4 times between every feeding, and even starting on solids, he's still spitting up. He screams with every bottle and with every feeding.
I just feel so horrible seeing him in pain.
I'm hoping the Zantac will help.
Thanks for the hugs!!

Re: having atough day - need hugs
I hope things get better for you and your DC feels better soon. DD had reflux too and Zantac made her miserable. The GI doc suggested Mylanta and it worked like a charm. GL!

Oh Holly...
I just saw this...
I'm so sorry that you are going through this.
Kristina gets cold like symptoms EVERY time she teeths.
I bought the Vicks vapor plug ins.
Let me tell you.... Before I bought them, I couldn't lay Kristina down in bed - she would scream bloody murder! I bought these, and put them in the wall about 15 minutes b4 I lay her down, and what a difference. Of course I give her either Tylenol or Motrin and her teething tablets when she's that bad, but the plug ins definitely help!
I'm so sorry about your ped office.... Where are you located? With the multitude of mommies on here... I am sure that someone can give you a reco on a GREAT ped!
