UPDATE: quick wwyd Thanksgiving Related
So we are going to a cousins house up in Westchester for thanksgiving and my mom just got a message from her saying that her daughter had a fever, was vomiting and complaining of a sore throat and that she was taking her to the doctor. We won't know anything more for a few hours but I'm curious as to what you all would do. Would you A) Go and try and avoid her daughter, wash hands alot or B) Stay home and have a small thanksgiving with DH, parents and brother
I'm leaning towards staying home, but I just wanted to make sure I wasn't being overly cautious... Thanks in advance
UPDATE: So it was strep, which isn't as bad as the flu, but yesterday afternoon we decided not to go anyways, wasn't worth the risk. I'm enjoying a nice relaxing thanksgiving at home with my DH, parents and brother.... Thanks for the advice everyone

Would your parents have originally gone with you to your cousins?
I would probably just go but that is just me. There are germs everywhere.

Davenjess- thats what I was thinking too, I really don't want to risk it
Kerrycec- She wasn't really advising that, as she doesn't know that I'm pregnant yet (I'm only 6 weeks), she was kind of making it up to us but just wanted to let us know....
So annoying since being a hungry preggo I was really looking forward to this meal lol

I would stay home as well. If it is the flu that is going around you def do not want to expose yourself to it.

If your family is willing to stay home and spend Thanksgiving with you, I would probably stay home just to be safe. You definitely don't want to pick up something like the FLU when you're pregnant.

I would stay home...sounds like it's the stomach virus in which case it's an airborn, so washing your hands won't help too much.

I'm not overly cautious, I work in a school so I figure I'm around germs all the time. However, if someone is throwing up I probably wouldn't go over.

Re: quick wwyd Thanksgiving Related
stay home I would never consider going somewhere where someone in the household has vomiting and fever - that is usually highly contagious.
