Update: Strange charge from UBER?
There was a .79 charge from Uber on our CC this morning. Of course, Uber does not have a customer service phone number, so I had to send them an email. I hate that beyond anything.
I searched and couldn't find any evidence of an uber credit card security breach. We have never used the service but I did sign up so they have our CC info. Should I just call my CC company and have them cancel our card? I HATE doing that it is such a hassle.
** I heard back from customer service and was told that they periodically re-authorize cards to make sure they are still valid. WTF?
I told them to remove my cc info (since of course, I am unable to do so online) so hopefully that will solve all of my problems.

I would bet that it is just an authorization since you signed up and gave your CC number

Oh.
Well, just MO, but I wouldn't be that concerned, maybe they needed to validate your card or changed their billing system.
But I have no money to steal

I actually had this happen to me w/my Amazon card. It's a red flag that my card was stolen and the thieves were hitting it with little amounts to test and see if the identity info they had would work~! Check it out, in case it is~!

Yes. This is what they do. I had 10 cents, then a dollar charged to me before any goods were charged to me - in that case a phone system of some sort. Mastercard caught it. Amex caught a similar situation last year for me. Their fraud department called and wanted to know if I had bought any i-tunes in Luxembourg recently.
