Update Thread
Hey Everyone,
I think I know where all of you are at in the process, but I like having it all together in one thread so I can keep track.
Me: I sent in all of my paperwork and am waiting for a call/letter from NB to tell me who my SW will be and to set up a date for the homestudy. I received something in the mail yesterday from them and got all excited and it was just my original birth & marriage certificates -- without a letter!  I'm hoping to get the call soon. I have two classes scheduled soon ... one in Feb & one in March. I'm hoping to have the homestudy before the end of this month (although I'm very worried about our pool not being fenced in), getting the I700form in April, the referral in June, and baby by Sept! Does that sound realistic?
How about everyone else?

OHHHH Forget about the pool LOL!!!
It will be fine. Yeah I sure do wish they would speed up your paperwork so our kids can come closer in time.

They wrote the pool up in yours though, didn't they? Hey, if our kids are five months apart, I'll be happy! Please...I did NOT expect this process to run so smoothly and quickly! I love NB!

No they didn't say anything about the pool. I said something to Maureen, (our Social worker) and she said "your going to put a fence up right?" Meaning she wasn't even going to ask, cause we obviously are bright enough to know better.
See don't worry so much.
Trust your gut, its going to be fine.

I had dreams all night long about adoption. Every time I fell asleep, I had a different child. All different ages, races and genders were represented. Can you tell this is on the forefront of my mind?

I have nothing to update but I just want to say I am so happy for the families that are in process and want to wish you all the best.
Last year at this time we were packing for our first trip to Russia. We met our Son on Valentines Day!

Thanks for your well wishes. I think that is so symbolic and adorable that you met your son on Valentines Day. So your Gotcha Day Celebration is also your day of Celebration of Love with your DH! How adorable. Happy Almost Gotcha and Valentines Day!

I am waiting for Suffolk County to get us our letters of good conduct..***? It has been over a week
We are still waiting on final fingerprint approval from Homeland Security, but that is expected in a week or so.
Everything else is ready to go to Wide Horizon's for the Ethiopia Program.

How Exciting! You're almost there! Very frustrating when you're waiting for others though. Believe me, I know that feeling. I love how we're all so close to one another's timeline-wise.

We are just in the waiting game so no new updates from me. All our paperwork was submitted and recieved by China on 10/27/05. Now they are saying about an 8 - 10 wait till referral so are hoping for a July/August referral and to travel in Sept/Oct to bring our baby home.
So for now I'm addicted to the baby bedding sites and driving my husband nuts!!

Karen, I think our babies will be coming home around the same month!  And something tells me your husband is just as excited as you are with his little Minnie Mouse gifts.  I'm driving Joe crazy with baby names.

Karen--you weren't affected by the fire at your complex were you? i am assuming not. I'll start decorating baby room after the LID...How many people are you traveling w/ again? A Lot, right?

No, thank gosh. Thanks for thinking of me though. The fire was about a block over and took out a whole unit of about 6 or 7 condos. Burnt totally to the ground. This was the first fire in the entire complex in 30 years so the last few days have been quite a buzz. Thank god no one was hurt.
We will be traveling with about 56 or so families. It's one of the biggest groups of the year for my agency. I'm just glad there will be a ton of people to ask advice and help out because I know I'll be overwhelmed!!
