Ok so I figured I'd listen to your advise and "try" the tin foil thing, although I pretty much knew my crazy cat wouldnt be phased by it... cat :1 tin foil: 0

OMG I HOPE SO!!!!!
my cousins cats wouldnt even approach the baby when she brought her home, but mine fears nothing and is in everything.. I would keep the door shut, but at night especially he acts crazy. He was so use to the door always being open and going in and laying on the guest room bed.

Just keep the door to the baby's room closed... The cat will just have to adjust to the door being closed.
Problem solved!
I have a cat, and never had this problem because she is not allowed in DD's room.

well when baby starts sleeping in the crib after 3 months or so we are going to keep the cat in the basement at night, because i dont want to door shut when he is that little. I just hate that I need to keep te door closed at all times. darn cat! lol

Aw, look at her face, she's like "oh thanks mom love my new bed!!" I'm a little worried about my cat too, but I think as long as we show her attention too she will be ok and I've heard that they want nothing to do with the baby when you bring him or her home so we'll see!

I never allowed the cat in DD's room, she was ****** at first but got over it. I didn't want her in the crib or all the extra hair in her bedroom.
My cat is also not afraid of anything, she runs the house. She hid from my DD for ages. The closest she would get was sitting at the base of her bouncy seat if she was sleeping. She is just starting to venture over to her now and DD is almost 2.

aw, she looks like she's loving that new bed of 'hers'!
but if you're seriously worried that it could become an issue, i know it may sound mean but someone suggested that if you put aluminum foil in the crib, the cat will get scared and not jump in it again.

Put balloons in the crib, so when she jumps in and they pop she will get scared and not go back.

She hid from my DD for ages.
This was my cat as well.
The closest she would come for the first 2 months was the doorway of whichever room we were in.

Re: UPDATE WITH VIDEO This is going to be a problem...(Cat related)
I have crazy cats and the only thing that worked in the end was the crib tent from BBB. In fact we had to return our bassinet and get a pnp b/c they make a pnp tent as well. They are designed to keep pets out. My cats are overly friendly and I was very afraid one of them would jump in land on the baby...

Re: UPDATE WITH VIDEO This is going to be a problem...(Cat related)
my cat did the SAME thing haha
but good news is the second the baby went in the crib my cat never went in there again..but soon after the baby went in the crib my cat figured out that the baby must be done with the bassinet so he started to sleep in there (until we put it away haha)

We have to come to the realization that our furbaby won't be allowed to sleep in our room anymore once the baby is here.
I forsee this as easier said than done

Re: UPDATE WITH VIDEO This is going to be a problem...(Cat related)
oh no!! your cats really cute though. Im glad my dog cant jump in. well at least i dont think she can.
can you try putting the foil more where it would make noise? maybe putting it on the sides? how about the pennys in a soda can trick. that usually scares them.

Re: UPDATE WITH VIDEO This is going to be a problem...(Cat related)
try a martini shaker and coffee can filled with change and shake it really loudly when the cat hops or goes to hop in the crib. They will associate the horrid noise with them touching the crib.
It also may be a non issue once the baby is here, our cat wanted NOTHING to do with DS, so he never jumped in the crib with him in it bc he didnt care for him
