UPDATE..could use some prayers..
Could use some prayers for my 3 yr old lab. She was running around 6 months ago and came back limping. I figured she strained something, but after a few days of noticeable discomfort we took her to the vet. Of course, that was the day she was totally fine. The vet agreed it was probably a strain. Fast forward to a month ago and she was limping again and after talking with the vet he suspected it could be her hip or her knee, but wasn't sure. He said since x-rays would be the only way to know for sure and that requires sedating her to try giving her two weeks of very very strict rest and then reassess. The two weeks of rest did wonders. She wasn't limping! I thought for sure it was just a strain. Unfortunately, on Tuesday she was at my parents house and she fell to the ground on a walk with my mom and would not get up. According to my mom she was yelping and crying. My mom had to pick her up and carry her inside. She went in for x-rays this morning. We are hoping that it's nothing serious, but since it's been going on for over 6 months, we are definitely nervous it's something that could require surgery. If you could say some prayers for her, we'd really appreciate it!
It's her ACL. Vet recommended surgery, so we are on the hunt for a good and affordable ortho vet now. Anyone have any suggestions? He recommended, NY vet and specialty hospital in Farmingdale.
