UPDATED - How to get lower car insurance?

I have Allstate, I don't have any tickets or accidents on my record, but was wondering if there is a program that will take my information and quote me a lower rate if one exists.

Thanks!

UPDATE:
Thanks everyone because of your advice I am now saving $700 a year on car insurance! Mainly they said because I have a clean record.

So I am very excited.Chat Icon

Re: How to get lower car insurance?

you can just call up different companies and get a quote.. that's exactly what they'd be doing ;)

take a defensive driving course, use one company for your homeowners/renters & car insurance

Re: How to get lower car insurance?

I'm shopping around right now too....lowest rates I received were Tri-State (or TSC), I think they're LI based...and Travelers. Just call them and give them the same coverage amounts you currently have w/ All State so you're comparing apples to apples on coverage. Travelers was almost half of what I'm currently paying (w/ a homeowners insurance discount and multi vehicle). good luck.

Defensive driving and getting multiple policies w/the same company. You should be able to find a better rate elsewhere - Allstate tends to run on the higher side.

Thanks!

I do take the driving class every 3 years for the discount already.

Even call Allstate and ask if you can get a better rate.

Our Allstate rep called us a year or so ago and said "new clients are getting better rates than old clients, so we're going to cancel your policy and give you a new one with the same options, and you'll save 500 bucks."

That's a good idea and may be an easy place to start, thanks!

i would get some free quotes from online
