UPDATED - THANK YOU! Anyone else wake up with excruciating back pain?
For the past several days i've been waking up in the middle of the night, or in the morning (or both) with severe back pain. Like mid-back, right at the base of my rib cage. I sleep on my side (switching back and forth) during the night. It has to be something with the position... but idk what else to do. Anyone else? Any suggestions? I cannot survive like this for the next 8 weeks. I woke up a half hour ago crying bc it was that bad.

I sleep with a body pillow between my knees. It helps with hip and spine alignment. Also, sometimes a wedge under the belly helps, so it doesn't pull on your back at night. Hope you feel better soon.

thank you - i do sleep with a pillow between my knees but will also try a wedge (or an improvised wedge lol) tonight!

That stinks! Maybe its your rib? With my last pregnancy my DD used to love sticking her feet right up into my ribcage. Fun stuff! Every once in a while my rib would pop out.

 that sounds awful!!! i can usually feel the foot in rib area but maybe...
i am dreading going to sleep now!

Do you have a recliner you can sleep in? I slept on the couch in the living room at the end a lot because I could get into a better position sort of propped up on the side that took the weight off my pelvis. Otherwise I was in terrible pain.
The one day my back pain was unbelievably bad to the point that I took two extra strength tylenols, I was actually in labor. DD was born just a few hours later.

So I slept propped at an incline (2 big thick pillows) and also wedged a stuffed animal under my belly when I went on my sides, and NO BACK PAIN this morning!
Thank you so much!!! Don't know which worked (incline or wedged animal) but i'll be doing both from now on!

i had this for three nights and then it just went away. One night it was so uncomfortable I put a heating pad on low and the pain subsided.
