UPDATED!!! Elite Women's Healthcare Patients....
Tomorrow is my first appointment with my OB and I am alittle nervous. Is anyone else a patient of Dr. H***** at Elite Women's Healthcare? Would you recommend him? Also, what can I expect at my first appointment?
A little background info.... My GYN is Dr. R**** @ Elite Women's and I've been going to her for years. I am really disappointed that she is no longer an OB because I feel really comfortable with her. She referred me to a RE last year and up until last week, I was under the care of the RE. I am now ready to see an OB and I am nervous about the change.

I went home and cried to DH and to my mom last night.
I don't know if I should give him one more shot, try another doctor in the same office (I am happy with my GYN @ that office), or to go to a different office.... . I am very confused.

Re: Elite Women's Healthcare Patients....
I am seeing Dr. Wurwick. I like him. Dr. Herman is nice. I meet him before. I was a Dr. Mittleman original pt and then changes to Dr. Senerich when she left. You can FM me. Meet with Dr. Herman and see how you click if you don't like him see Dr. Wurwick. I like Dr, Wurwicks humor.

Re: Elite Women's Healthcare Patients....
I was a patient at Elite, under Dr. Raber. I wasn't fond of the practice, don't know why but I didn't want to go there after I got pregnant. I switched to ProHealth and absolutely LOVE it , the docs are great as is the practice as a whole.
I was glad I left bc a few months before I delivered my DS I found out Raber was no longer delivering.

Re: Elite Women's Healthcare Patients....
I am a patient of Dr. Herman's and have been for 10 years. He is a DOLL. He has been a great doc for the past 10 years and even better than I could imagine while I'm pregnant. He NEVER rushes me and answers all of my questions thoroughly. DH likes him also. I've seen Dr. W. a few times but I prefer Herman NO doubt!
When is your appointment? I'm going tomorrow (tuesday) at 4:30.

This is the "DH" writing for the "DW" who is burping the baby Dr. Herman has a unique personality, but truly is a genuine, educated, caring and compassionate doctor. Could he be short at times when he believes there is nothing serious with your health, yes. If you said you needed time to speak with him, would he take you into his office and speak with you for as long as you need, 100% yes. He is honest and straight-forward. Some people respect this, but some prefer to hear what they want to hear versus the facts. He will give you the facts.
In addition to being an top OBGYN, he is a national leader in genetic testing. We believe he saved the "DW's" life and those of others by taking time to discuss family history and statistics with her. Many other doctors would have referred this out, not him. He followed through with her from the beginning, through decision making and beyond.
The bottom line is you need a doc you know is knowledgeable, you trust and feel comfortable with. I'd totally give him another chance if you are comfortable telling him how you felt when you left after your initial visit. Ask him for a few minutes to talk in his office and take it from there.

I wish there were a "thumbs up" icon. I am so pleased with Dr. H. and have been for years. He does have a "quirky" personality though. Glad to know that someone else was so pleased with him!
But like I said...if YOU don't feel comfortable, do what's best for YOU. All the positive comments cannot necessarily change the way you feel.

Thanks everyone. I'm sure he is a great doctor. Like I said, he seemed to know his stuff! Maybe I just met him on an 'off' day.... I think I am going to give him one more chance and bring DH with me to meet him. Then we'll take it from there....

Re: UPDATED!!! Elite Women's Healthcare Patients....
I can tell you that there aren't many doctors out there that will sit with you and just "talk" for the sake of keeping you a longer time than usual. I think that for the most part doctors do their thing and if they do not have any concerns and you do not have any questions, they bid you farewell. Make sure you focus on an educated doctor, not one who sits for extended periods of time, ya know?
