UPDATED on original post-About the 1 hour gluscose test . . .(re: results)
Did your OB office call with the results either way or only if it was a failure? I think I am being overly optimistic, but I took my 1 hour last Thursday and I still have not gotten a call. I am not sure if the results should be back by now and if I should wait it out or if I should call . . .
UPDATE: I PASSED!!!!!!! I thought for sure I was going to fail, but I got my pleasant surprise today!

I haven't done this yet so I don't know for sure but I would imagine that they would have called you by now. If you don't want to wait it out I would just call them.

So today can still potentially be D-day. I am not sure how much the holiday might have held things up. I am going to guess that if I don't hear by the end of the day tomorrow, then I am in good shape . . .

i would THINK you are okay....but it can't hurt to call tomorrow AM.
right in the beginning my doc told me - we don't normally call you, unless there's an issue. this has been true throughout my pregnancy - though it does make me jumpy/nervous when i see their number and i'm NOT expecting it....

Re: About the 1 hour gluscose test . . .(re: results)
My doctors office never called me.... I took the test on a Wed and called on Monday about an unrelated question. When I asked them on that phone call about the test they got back to me later and said that I had failed ....I think thats abnormal that they didn't get back to me quick after I had failed, so I'm sure you are fine

Hey girls - rather than start a new thread I thought I'd ask here...I'm going for mine tomorrow morning. Do we need to fast or avoid sugar for this one? I saw somewhere that you don't have to but I am paranoid about a false reading. Wondering if I'm better off going there tomorrow without anything in my stomach or not. Thanks!

Doesn't hurt to call them yourself anyway. I called and the Doc called me later that day and gave me the results.

call your doc or lab and ask them. they are the only ones that can give you the right answer.
there are no false readings (that i've ever heard of) - it's in your blood...you either have it or you don't and nothing you do will alter those results :)

Good idea Jess, I'll do that! I guess I meant, I feel like I've read people say they feel that what they ate/drank before hand might have thrown off their results? So not really a false reading but skewed? I guess there's no real way to tell?

i know many people feel that it can do that - but the reality is your blood is not really something all that trickable - ya know? If it were a pee test - yeah - probably 'trickable' - but your blood is not all that easily fooled.. :)
My staple thing i tell everyone is if you do NOT have GD - you can suck on 35 lollypops RIGHT before the test and pass, but if you HAVE it - you can starve for 3 days and fail...

Hehe cool, thanks for the info! I guess I was just confused about this whole thing since I have no prior knowledge about it! But your explanation makes a lot of sense. I'll give them a ring to be sure but otherwise I'll just go with the flow!

Re: About the 1 hour gluscose test . . .(re: results)
Honestly i would feel good that you passed. I took my 1 hour on a Tues and got called that I failed on Friday. So I took the 3 hour the following Tues, found out I passed it only bc I was at my high risk and had them call for results, but my OB didnt tell me i passed until I went for my appointment this past Monday (2 weeks after the test). (and he didnt know high risk notified me)
So i guess no news is good news!!
