updated: PLEASE cross your fingers for me that we get our clear to close - - - - - - Next Friday ugh
One thing after another. My closing date has been pushed back a whole month now. The plan was to move in the summer. Now I start work THURSDAY. I want to know so I can rent a truck. Budgets already sold out. If I dont close Friday wed have to wait until Tuesday. My kids 1st day of school AND as a teacher Id have to take off when I just got back! PLEASE keep your fingers crossed for me. 
Ive been trying to buy this house since June BTW Since Im a teacher I was HOPING to be in before school started again :(

Hope you can close this week! If not maybe they can schedule you for a later closing time so you don't have to miss work? Hope it all works out for you!

So everyones waiting on a phone call from the sellers to see if they fixed the shingles. They live in Pennsylvania, so I went over and looked and TWO shingles are missing and TWO are damaged. THATS IT, on the whole house, so WHY is this such a big deal???? THIS is holding up closing?? COME ON! I took pics and messaged i to my mortgage broker and real estate agent. We cant have the home reinspected (by the appraiser?) Until they are fixed!!! This is such crap. I am so disappointed.

Over 200 views and 4 replies? Yikes. I must be boring. Well Im going over tomorrow, getting shingles out of their garage and banging them up. Hope that does the trick.

Thanks! Tomorrow 8:30 I finish registering the kids, then off to middle school orientation, then I nail the shingles up, then house will be reinspec,ted. HOPEFULLY it will pass and HOPEFULLY the bank will give us the clear to close Wednesday the latest. Then the seller will finally open her pool so I can see it, do the walk through, Thursdays my first day of work and then HOPEFULLY well close FRIDAY!!! A lot of hopefullys. So much to do! Before and after care FINALLY got back to me and my son wont be able to start the first week (awesome ugh). Hoping when I get the word there will be a truck to rent. So stressed :(

i was just about to reply that at this point if i was you i would just go and fix the shingles your self!! sorry you have to go thru all this!

Thank you for asking. My incredible uncle who was an architect etc. Came by and it did for us. Nicest guy ever. Did a great job. Im glad he came b/c it seemed so easy for him and I wouldnt have done the same thing. So now the home needs to be reinspected. Then the bank needs to give us the all clear, and then close. HOPEFULLY Friday!!

Good luck with everything. (I fell your pain. Last year when I was waiting to close on the sale of my co-op, the closing was scheduled for right after hurricane Irene. The closing had to be delayed because the bank had to go re-inspect to make sure the co-op was still there after the hurricane. I was like, REALLY - you think an entire co-op building was destroyed!!! Ugh - it took over a month because they were so backed up with re-inspections).

Well, no good news is bad news  Even though they put a rush on reinspecting the house, the bank cant get out to VISUALLY see that two shingles that were missing were put up until Friday. I even took pics of the house to show it! So now i have to really juggle moving and somehow driving and picking up my 3 kids to their 3 different new schools all while going to work. Ill then need to most likely take a day off and Im just starting back with students on Tuesday :( I just feel like I can not win.
