**UPDATED with new questions -BTDT moms who have flown out of JFK...Can you help me figure this out?
UPDATED with new questions: I don't think DH will take the air train too much stuff to lug..YES we tend to over pack I know, I know - but DH has size 14 shoes and so he tends to need an extra bag etc...
For those who took car service and use the car services seats - where they convertible seats? I tried calling the two companies we used in the past and like and I asked and they said sure we have car seats - and I said are they convertible or boosters - and the women is like they are CAR SEATS - what does it matter...so I'm a bit nervous - who did you use? We usually use Carizma but have used goldcrest in the past but they were more money.
For those that left the seat with the car company was - that a problem? They just hold the one seat for you until you return?
It just doesn't make sense for us to lug 2 car seats down to Orlando when DD will probably never sit in it other than the ride to and from the airport.
I worry if I do bring the seat on the plane she might be kicking the seat in front of us - and since we are sitting 3 and 1 coming home then I didn't think you can have 2 seats in one row.
-------
We are flying out of JFK on Jet Blue in May. I only plan to bring ONE car seat for Maddie who will be turning 1 ON the trip. I was going to use the CARES system for Kaitlyn (who will be 3 in June).
How did you get to the airport? I'm not sure I can fit a double stroller and 5 or 6 bags and the extra car seat etc into our CRV.
If you took car service what did you do if you didn't bring 2 car seats? What will me almost 3 year old ride in? If you did drive (as I said not sure we can get it all in one car) what lot did you park in if you flew with Jet Blue...how difficult was it to do that?
Any suggestions I'm kind of at a loss - we usually take car service when we travel but this is the 1st time I'm going with both girls and DH is resolved in NOT bringing 2 car seats (going down we are seating 2 and 2 in front of each other - but coming back it is 3 and 3 seating so we are 3 and 1 so I can't use 2 car seats on the plane coming home and I think DD would kick the seat in front so that is not an option).

When we took a car service to JFK they provided us with a carseat for the ride since we were not taking a carseat with us.
You should ask them

Here's what my mom said!
under 1 is a lap child, she can hold her, the other kid will be in window seat in car seat...or they can sit in 2 car seats - 1 in window, other in middle, with parent on aisle...i would take a car service..tell them how many people and bags , etc.--the walk and airtrain would be too much to do with little kids and all that stuff..the car service will drop them right outside terminal, with no walking other than to gate

we took a taxi to the airport and put DS in the carseat in there. We put the seatbelt through. You can request a van to pick you up. Should be able to fit everything DS was 9 months and he sat on our laps on the plane. We did a gate check for the stroller and carseat and got covers for both to protect them

Call around to car services - many have vans. Many to will hold your car seat (from what I heard) for the return trip. We flew recently with both boys but I drive to my mom's who is 5 minutes from JFK - leave our car at her house and get a van from her local car service. I actually still have a suitcase at her house I need to go pick up since all our stuff wouldn't fit in our small car which we used that day.

Depending on the day, maybe I can follow you and get some of your bags in my car.
You probably should take your car with both carseats. Park the car in long term parking. I will get your extra bags in my car. I might be able to do it both trips.
That's what DH and his friends do. We all help each other with airport stuff.
I will email you.

Wait can you ask her again? I thought I read you can only have one car seat per row? I figured coming back I would sit in the middle and put DD#2 in her seat next to the window and then DD#1 in the CARES system on the aisle since DH will sit across the aisle then I don't have them next to one another so it will be easier to quiet them down. I would do window middle and window middle - but DH is tall and I'm um plus size so I'm afraid I might be very uncomfortable in the middle if I had someone sitting in the aisle.

She said:
You can have 2 carseats in window and middle as long as a parent is on the aisle. Or 1 child at window A and parent in B ( middle) and a child in F (window) and a parent in E (middle)
