UPDATED with news link of us! lol I know another H1N1 post. Gave Josh the shot this AM
for the last 2 weeks, we back and forth with decision.
1. ped was giving it, did not have it in.
2. pulm was not giving it, but suggesting that we stay in all winter...avoiding crowds, b-day parties...after spending a few days like that, I was loosing my mind.
3. he has asthma, but I am pregnant. wrecked my mind that I did not trust shot with new baby, but was giving it to Josh. But Josh has asthma, I don't...I don't get sick.
so found out last night that the health dept had 600 shots to give this am.
we got there at 6 AM. waited 2.5 hours. I cried, a lot. My nerves were all over the place. My DH is a gem...he was nice and very supportive.
It was a sad scene though. Too many people, not enough shots. Desperate moms with sick kids in need of the shot. The line was soooo long. Then it started raining on these poor desperate people.
If he was not a child with lung issues...I would not have been there. I know what is going to happen if he catches the flu. I am sure of what would happen. The shot is iffy, I am glad its over. It will be on my mind, the effect of the shot in his little body. but that was a maybe, were catching the flu is a real possiblity turned into a nightmare.
just my day. I thought I would share. I had been fming a few people. Caren, thanks so much for the support.

good job! we sometimes have to make tough decisions for our kids. I am still scared but once its in I will likely be giving it.

 Thank you for sharing your story!!! It IS a very difficult decision to make. I gave in and got it for DD#1 yesterday at my peds. DD#1 gets spasmodic croup whenever she gets allergy issues so I was too scared. I did a lot of research and spoke with a lot of people and think I made the right decision. - Even though I know I made the right choice I was still scared to give it. So far DD has been just fine.

I think you'll end up being happy you got it for him. I'm really leaning towards getting it for Ava and myself because I really am very worried. And you guys were adorable! So adorable that they kept going back to you

wow, when did this air???
So cool! I'm glad you were able to get it done.
I heard a lot of people at school talking about bringing their kids on Saturday. I never expected that the turnout would be so huge

it keeps airing now...which is really funny because on channel 14, if you look closely, we are in the tyson ac commericals.
dh sold ac units this summer and they needed us for commercial.
dh is the come on in guy.

Yeah...love the NY accent on the NC news!!!! You looked great...and what a beautiful shot of Josh they got...those eyes!!!

I think your mind will be more at ease now. I am likely going to get it for DD as well, and myself, since I am asthmatic. My fear of the disease is beginning to outweigh the fear of the vaccine.

Good choice janice!! Im all for the vaccine for logan as well. as you know we already have our appt for 2 weeks to get the shot
oh janice i forgot to ask, does josh need another shot in a month as a booster?? i think kids under 9 need two shots right?

he would...i have to call starting next week and try to get on a list for the shot...
they said they really do doubt more shots are coming in though and what he got was better then nothing. its such a mess.
